Spring Planting 1973

Scanned from an old 110 slide. Dad's Cockshutt 50 hitched to the "new to us" 12 foot JD Van Brunt single disk drill. We had just hauled it home with the 730 Case that spring. A long drive from where dad bought it (40 miles). Originally a plain galvanized box, I thought a John Deere should be green so brushed on some green paint.

(quoted from post at 13:25:03 04/05/19) Spring of 1974 was very wet. Did not start seeding till June 5th.East of Yorkton on Man-Sask border.
I remember 74 as a wet spring too. We were normally finished before May 31 but not that year.

We moved to town in 73. No spring planting. At the time I thought it was great not to farm. But I didn't want to leave the Island.
