Just wondering if a Kewanee 9 S chisel plow is any good?? Found a 9 shank for $700 that looks good, but I don?t know anything about them. It?ll be used for small acreage. We do have a few rocky fields here also. Just want to break some ground up every now and then.

Friend of mine covered a lot of ground with one behind a 1066 back in the day. Don't recall any issues with it.

Low clearance. If your not disking or shredding the corn stalks before you try to chisel with it you will have one big dump rake. These corn hybrids of today make a much hardier stalk.

These old chisels don?t pull near as hard as the newer ones the one in the picture looks Jusr like dads John Deere 100 which is a 15 shank and the 4020 handles it fine I?ve even pulled it with the 3020 in front of 16 foot hoe drill

I?ll be using a JD 4455, just wanting something to till up the smaller fieilds that?ll do a pretty decent job for not a whole lot of $$.
