Feed prices?

I just had a ton of feed delivered today. It was $350 which did include $55 delivery fee. It is a different place than I've been getting feed from. The last place I was getting feed from was well over $400 and an $80 delivery fee. I've been waiting for 2 weeks now for the last place to deliver so I went with a new company.

Since all the crop ground is on partnership I buy some corn off a neighbor each fall that farms about 300 acres. Just have him haul straight to the mill and they grind and mix and fill my bulk bins. Last fall after I had used up my stock they were charging over $6 for corn that was around $3.40 market value. Neighbor treats me real good and only has to haul a few miles so he?s really happy but I could probably pay him around $5 a bushel and still come out ahead of the feed mill.

i use to haul corn to SW kansas, from Nebraska, for the feedlots after they ran out of local corn. raised the price substantially.

I'm selling my oats locally for $3 a bushel and glad to get that. Prices on hay and straw are pretty wild. I've seen small square hay bales priced anywhere from $6 to $9. Large round hay at $100! Feed must be getting in short supply.
