Got the kingdom herd out for a pic

Didn't get a lot done this weekend because I had a birthday party to go to, my youngest grandson Ted turned one. He is our youngest's son.

Had to work on my 1030 a bit, so I had to get all of the tractors out of the shed, so I lined them up for a pic. 1030, 830, 400, DC.

The 1030 needed a water pump, batteries, electric fuel pump, and some other odds and ends. Got all that done. Then worked on the 830 some, it has issues with the com, it doesn't release correctly and grinds the gears. It had the wrong oil and the valve wasn't working right, so I drained it and put all new o-rings and seals in the valve and pump and flushed it out hoping that would fix it. Those things helped a lot and it pulls and shifts up and down good now, but still doesn't release all the way, so looks like I'll have to split it and do a rebuild in the torque converter. That is not a very common issue with those, this is the first I've seen. Likely someone ran it low on oil at some time as that is the only thing I know that will cause that. But that will have to wait till later as there is no money for any more projects right now.

So now all the tractors are ready for work except for changing the oils, but I bought all the filters on Napa's spring sale and they aren't in yet. They say next week. So now I'll have to focus on the corn planter, that is a big job and a lot left to do on it. But I think I've rounded up all the parts now and can start putting it together. Hopefully it stays warm so I can work on it. Would sure be nice if the snow would finish melting so my yard would dry up too, I'm getting tired of sloshing through the mud everywhere.

You seem to get more done on a weekend then I get done in a month.
I hauled in tons of crushed rock last fall and spread it on the main tracks in my yard so not to bad. Get off the track though and lookout.

Yesterday I started the F-20 and moved it out of the barn, so that I could put the snowmobile away. The South door had thawed out, so I opened it and started my Farmall 400. I then drove thru the yard and knocked down the big pile of snow that is at the end of the driveway. It had not been out of barn sense last fall. I then decided to see if the JD 204 had a charged battery in it. It started and so I drove it up and down the road a little just to be sure it was charged completely. My GF showed up with her 4yr old GD and we got out a plastic toboggan and slid down the yard until she got cold. life is good when the tractors start.

Glad your new place is working out so well for you. I wish I had your energy. Seems like my days are longer and fewer things get done anymore.

Nice lineup and glad you are high and dry....I worry about you folks and the bad flooding up there.

I try to run my equipment at least once a month for half an hour more or less, getting the temp up to normal operating. In the winter this means blocking off the radiator with cardboard. One thing it does is to keep sediment in the engine oil in suspension so that when you drain your oil it drains out, rather than pile up as silt on the bottom of the oil pan. Next time you drain your oil stick your finger in the drain hole and rub the bottom of the oil pan.

Case in point, recently bought a 1988 tractor with 900 hrs. Oil was black....was an estate sale and the old guy died off....no telling how long it had been sitting......moving on, first thing I did was to change the oil and filter......put maybe 30 minutes on the new oil, checked the level and it was black again. Drained it out and stuck my finger in the hole and came back with about ?" of sludge. Put new oil in again and this time put a can of Sea Foam in the crankcase and ran the engine for about 30 minutes at 1000 rpms.

Drained that oil out and the sludge was gone. Put in new oil and filter again, and after 34 hours and counting, the oil has some black streaking, but for the most part is still honey colored.

Great looking group Jon! Happy birthday to the little guy as well,I?m sure he?ll soon have his favourite tractor picked out if he doesn?t already!

I agree, where do you get all your energy? Since my surgery I feel like doing things but that only last so long. But better over time.

Yes, nice lineup of those tractors. And now they all run. I bet you cannot wait for the mud to go away and then put them to work.

I do like the color of those tractors, especially when I see one all restored in those colors.

Happy Birthday to the Birthday boy!
