The original subject was "Re: Painting my barn roof?".
March 3 2019. An older gentlemen and a driver that never got out of the pickup just stopped by my place today here in NW Tennessee and offered to paint an old small tin barn for "about $200.00" He said he'd nail down any nails and make it shine. I told him we never used that barn and he told me that I should not want it to look rusted like that. I felt like he was pressuring me. We have been taken advantage by a fly by night roofer so I am gunshy about people who just stop by out of the blue. Nothing against this man but we were taken for thousands of dollars and left with a leaky roof and water-damaged ceilings on our home. It took us two years to pay off the personal loan we had got to get that roof and that fast talker got it all and then some.
The man's name that stopped by today name according to the (very cheaply made) card I asked for was Gil Costello 803-634-4444. There is nothing else on the card except name, phone and "Indutrial Roof & Barn Painting."
I told him my husband was gone at the moment. He said, "You know he'll leave it up to you anyway so you might as well get it done while I'm here. It's only a couple hundred dollars."
I was googling to find info on him and ended up finding this forum.
