Case 5130 Rear Hitch

new to the forums here, have been on several forums over the past few months trying to narrow down the subject heading issue, 5130 Rear Hitch not working. I don't have any problems with the front end raising up and down, it may be a little slow with a full bucket. Power steering seems fine. the rear remotes work as best I can tell. however the rear Hitch does not want to cooperate. it's been in three different shops and appears no one can determine the issue. I did read one thread on a Case 5120 on this forum, didn't see any follow-up on whether it was resolved. was also on Red Power Magazine Forum for a guy who had the same issue on the rear hitch. he suggested checking/replacing a control harness. the more I read post surrounding the Case 5100 series, there are more places to look for issues. I was just wondering if anyone knows what the silver bullet is for this problem?

I have a 5230 MFWD which has had similar issues. I imagine the two tractors are much the same. There are several possibilities. It's been long enough since I've worked on mine I've probably forgotten something. I only bought this tractor because I know a fellow who went to school on them, and he has all the service information on them. It would appear to me that he has older, original information which could be hard to find. He worked at a CaseIH dealership at the time these tractors were new. He is so good, he has long since been on his own.

He has worked on electrical connectors on the firewall, and down under the right side cab console on the floor. I have replaced the three point control switch based on his recommendation. I worked on the valve, under the cab, to which the manual control lever, and the draft control dial hook to. I don't remember why. Maybe just because it leaked. I don't think that valve is supposed to be serviceable, but I fudged my way through it. The main thing that I recall which really finally got me going was he let me borrow one of his detailed wiring charts, which show three or four of these "connectors" in various places on the wiring harness in the console housing, and under the cab. They are a 6 pin plug, which plug into the harness. I thought at first they were just caps, or dead ends. But they have diodes, and maybe other little gizmos in them. His information showed just how they were supposed to work. With an ohmmeter I was able to check them out, and eventually, one by one, as I recall, I replaced most of them. This happened over a period of time. I would use it, then it would bother again, and I'd find another bad one. We never could get the remote switches on the fenders to work. I've replaced most of the solenoids under the cab. But I think they were forward/reverse/PTO/MFWD/diff lock/etc.

I can only wish you luck. You need some real detailed information, and someone with enough patience/knowledge to apply it.
