I have to stop up there sometime, my grandfather worked there during the 20s, my dad was born there.

I'm not sure where it is anymore. It was out on loan for five years I believe, while Hart Parr Oliver Collectors Assn restored it. We saw it at a show in Illinois several years ago.

This is Hart-Parr # 3. Picture taken 6 yrs ago at Penfield museum. Don't know if it is still there or not. The Illinois fellas out there will know. The sign in front of the tractor says "this is the oldest tractor in the world". It was in fully restored operating condition, however no one started it up. The build date was either 1903 or 1906.

My dad worked there in the 20's, not sure which tractors they were building then, but he said his job was drilling the front spindles for the kotter pin.

Yes they were built in Charles City, but according to the book, much history was documented in the Mason City newspaper, archives for researchers and back when? the 3rd H-P tractor was housed in a Mason City museum. The tractor was successful and 10-12 years before the Waterloo Boy (JD).
