Well, the milk line hasn't frozen like Philip d , but Lake Huron is over 90 percent
ice covered. This shot was taken from the bank about 100 feet above the lake
surface, looking west toward Michigan which is about 50 miles away. No, we can't
see rrlund from here! The ice hammocks on the shore can get 20 feet high as the
wind pushes them in. The lake surface has only frozen completely across several
times that I recall. No open water can be seen, the horizon is about 15 or 20 miles
distant. Gonna take a long time to get warm enough for a swim!

Kinda hard to take your favorite cabin cruiser out for a spin. Don't see any fishing houses?
 
They say Lake Michigan is mostly open yet and that's why we're getting so much lake effect yet. I could go out and wave a flag high in the air if you want to see if you can see that. LOL
 
Apparently a century ago Niagra falls froze,only happened once in recorded history far as I know.
