March In Like A Lion

Thought I'd make my weekly trip to town today but the trail was so heavy going that I backed out before I got stuck. Snow was drifting even at the time so my tracks would have been filled in by the time I came home. Temp dropping steady headed way down tonight. Nothing I need in town that bad. So I'd say March is starting like the proverbial Lion..

Cold and Snow Blowing

We had another beautiful sunny day here. 7 C, but, still snow in the shady areas and cold out of the sun. More to come - -5 C overnite.

I finally did something right in my life. I think. I'm sitting down here in Orlando right now. 71F @ 9pm. It did hit 83 today with beautiful sunshine. Attending the Corn/Soy "Commodity Classic" right now. My first. Sonny Perdue was on today. Gave a really good talk. Seems like a real down to earth guy. We're going to meander down to Key West on Tuesday and then up to Fort Lauderdale next week. St Augustine next. I want to get back to Wisconsin by the end of March. Sure hope it goes out like a lamb.

We have a nice layer of snow but way below normal. There will not be a whole lot of water come out of that. Some forecasters are saying we will have a dry spring and then good rain after that, which would be perfect.

Rusty the problem we have around here on no and low snow years Is no matter how much it rains it doesn?t make up for the deep sub surface moisture that the snow makes all the townies say well just let it rain well rain just isn?t the same and then they cry about the rain anyway . I hope things will work out for you .

I think if we got heavy rains in the summer like we did say about 5 years ago we would have more than adequate moisture. I recall one year we had 15 inches of rain in 30 days. Hard to believe now but I lived through it.
If I didn't have the videos to prove it happened I would hardly believe it myself.
2013 Rain flooding

I would say here in Northwestern Ohio it came is as a lamb, just on cool side. No snow or wind. Saw a guy out cliseling the mud yesterday. Gues he was trying to make his fieln like concrete come time to actually work and plant it. It will not freeze out anymore this spring.

Our ground will normally stay frozen solid through March. -30F this morning so you know its like concrete out there. No worries about mud here.

I enjoy your videos every time you post them, havent you posted videos using a Drone before, what type of drone was it?

rusty Can you work your drone while setting in the cab of your pickup???? IF it would work then you could be inside so your hands would not get so cold. Even if just using it as a wind break.

Yes, I could probably run the drone from inside the truck ok. That video of the Merc driving through the woods I had the controller on the seat of the Merc and it was still communicating with the drone well enough to follow.
