We were out and about doing some estimates for work yesterday and stopped at a pickers store. My wife saw these and I had to buy a couple. The one about silage was printed the same year my Ford 960 was built. Neat stuff.

Even a great center fold!!

Maybe. Lol. Shoot me an offer. They had 5-6 more other ones. Maybe I should go get em all? I only bought ones with tractors on the front. They are sealed in bags.

I find old literature fun to collect. I have several filing cabinets full of tractor and implement brochures. I also have hundreds of Hoards Dairyman,Praire Farmer,Successful Farming, WI Agriculturest and other farm magazines. Mine are mainly from the late 50's to the mid 70's. Tom

I love those old Farm literature books,, I have several here that I enjoy looking at,,it is a great way to compare now from then..

Grandpa I used to buy lots of that stuff (I look like a library) Don't see it so much now on ebay it can be too costly.

the equipment in your brochures is a far cry from the machines that the big timers use today. the idea of putting high sides on a manure spreader to use as a self unloading wagon always struck me funny. we never had a day where there wasn't at least a couple loads of manure to spread, so the spreader wouldn't have worked out for hauling silage.
one of my professors at college took us on field trips to area farms, about the time skid steers were just getting popular. farmer was using his bobcat to scrape the freestall barn and load silage. he had only 1 bucket and didn't wash it in between. prof says "cows like that?"

I?ve seen cows drink out of a pi$$ hole when they could walk ten more steps to clean water . Geldings will crap in their water trough and you can clean it every day and he will crap in it again by the next morning

Must be something wrong with my eyes, looks like the tractor in the vetches booklet is leaning to the left but the left rear wheel is standing verticle.i must be nuts!

The old machinery and vehicle literature is really collectible now. And of course becoming more expensive to buy. I am lucky to have just accumulated a fair bit of it over the years. This magazine cover is one of my favourites. From about 1950.
