A small toy...

...well, sort of. Athol 626 vise. Picture does not do it justice, this thing is huge. The ball the handle goes thru is about the size of a softball. Supposed to weigh around 175 but I won't be sure until I get it on a scale. Does not have the lock downs that stop it pivoting. I have seen them with and without those. Sometimes just a bolt in the holes. The jaws are almost new, it did not see much use in it's day.

That looks nice. I detest swiveling vices. Every time I go to an auction and see a nice better made older vice every one else seems to really want it to.

I was offered 250$ for mine I turned it down . I doubt a thousand dollar vice will take the abuse that this old one will

$250 for your vice would've been a rip off. Honestly if I had one like that I wouldn't consider taking any amount of money for it. I've had a couple people try to buy my anvil I've posted pictures here of. Even if I wanted to sell it I couldn't. I use it almost every day. I wouldn't know what to do without it.

This one will never ever be sold you can find them on eBay for quite a bit less than 250$ But I won?t sell it

I never even thought about Ebay. I just did a quick look and they seem to be cheaper than what I see at auctions even with the shipping. The other day I ran a big heavy metal welding table with nice vice up at a sale. Someone else won it but got buyers remorse and told the auctioneer he didn't bid on it. It was after the sale ended so the auctioneer said he'd take it himself. I overheard the guy talking to the owner of the sale later and he was a shill bidder running stuff up for his buddy. I know the auctioneer and if he'd known that during the sale he would've thrown them both out or ended the sale right there.

I don't think you are going to find a 6" vice in excellent shape on ebay on the cheap. Not a solid one with the kind of weight we are talking about. Shipping alone would be pretty high.
