what year was my MF 202 work bull # JGF 302454 made , and is it a tractor or backhoe

I think it is a 1958, based on the TractorData.com serial number information.

It is a tractor, but you might have been able to add a backhoe to it if you wanted. I got all this information from a google search, I am by no means an expert.

Welcome to the gathering, sounds like you've had a rough trip. Don't know if we have a tractor, do we?

Look online at some pictures of farms and machines working crops and doing different things in the field. The most prevalent ones will be tractors. Now look at what you have--turn on the light if it's dark out--and compare to the farm photos. Check back if you still have questions.

For the backhoe, it's an attachment that hangs off the back of the tractor. Looks like a big claw--you can dig some serious holes with it. Do you like digging holes? Because if you have the claw, you can.

I know it's a tractor ,but not year. It's hard to order Parts if you know very little about what you have. I can't find the serial number in any place or book that I have, to tell me what year it is

CW, your question is really a valid one, because in 1958 and for 6-8 years later, there was no distinct division between industrial/loader back hoe tractors and agricultural tractors. Early backhoes were being mounted on slightly changed farm tractors like the Ford 1841, just as shop mules and airport tugs were only slightly adapted for those uses. It took a few years for the manufacturers to get the true industrial models into production.
