Saying good bye to an old truck

Putting my old truck on an auction March 27. Kinda sad to see her go. Very reliable, just needed to upgrade to a 3/4 ton.

I had a tough time getting rid of my 85 Ford. I had said I'd rather take it to the crusher than see anybody else driving it,but when it came right down to it,I didn't want to see it crushed either.

I wish we were in the market. We had a '94, and it had the most comfortable seats we've ever had. Have an '04 now, but don't like the seats....plus a few other things.

(quoted from post at 10:46:03 02/22/19) Selling it privately through a local ad isn't an option? Maybe get more that way, who knows?

Agree with above, maybe local kid has had his eye on your truck, can scrape together the cash to buy. Probably do as well as or better than dropping it off at auction. If you have sentimental attachment, might be nice to know who gets your truck.

It is a '98 with about 230k on it. Reason for doing the auction is I don't want to deal with someone coming back in a few weeks saying something quit working, etc. Hopefully it goes to a "good home".

I have one like that except for the two tone paint. Mine is 98 with the 6.5 turbo loaded 4x4 no rust. Suppose to drive my corrolla to work, but it won't start and can't seem to figure why not, SO I have to drive the truck every where instead.

Let go of my 65 Ford a few years ago. Had it since high school, painted it twice. Just couldn't stand to see it rusting away.

just use the used car statement i use when i sell a vehicle, "i garentee it will leave the property under its own power, beyond that its all on the buyer "
