Deer damaging stored hay and trees, MN DNR mgt permits???

You might have to take out dozens and dozens to make a small dent in the amount of damage. Put fences around the expensive shrubs or plant something else that can tolerate the damage.

In our area it is possible to get shooting permits, but like ss55 said you would have to shoot a lot. You have to prove
the damage to a DNR rep., and someone other than the landowner is supposed to do the shooting, and show where the meat is
going to go. Our tree farm is not eligible, but the DNR does cost-share on the tree cages. We have planted a lot of
Eastern White Pine, and if you don't protect them from the deer they will never make it.

lucky if that's all they're doing. One ran in front of my Subaru Forester several hours ago & totaled it. There was a brown flash on my left, a tremendous THUMP! & deer went airborne about 8 ft. & landed 30 ft. way in the ditch. Tough little car tho. Still runs good; didn't hurt the new radiator put in last year.

Make some calls to the DNR and talk to them. I would not take it as gospel from a tractor site. Different states have different laws on this and they vary greatly. Crop insurance may come into play as well. Bottom line do your homework.

You do that here in Ohio you could go to jail, think they know just where each deer is and if one is missing they will trace it back to you and NO nusance permits.
