screen to filter out water from gasoline

I looked at a water separating funnel sold by Kubota at my local dealer.

Don't know who makes it but it is marketed by Kubota.

I have never heard of a screen water from gasoline, One thing if it has 10% ethanol the water will suspend in the gas, now if it is straight gasoline with no ethanol all you have to do is let container sit for a little while and the Gas will come to the top and jut pour off gas until you see water, Gasoline is 6.3 Lbs. per gallon at 60 degrees and water is 8 lbs. to the gallon

well Ill be,, amazon has lots of them, typed in water gasoline separator and it came up. Just wonder how well it works with the ethanol added

Grandpa always used a chamois skin. Worked for him.

When I was in the jungles of Brazil we always ran our fuel through chamois to filter dirt and water.

I bought a funnel at O'Reillys auto parts about 3 or 4 years ago that had a screen in it that would let gasoline pass on thru but would hold water back in the funnel. Sorry, I don't know that brand name.

This time of year just let stuff freeze. Pour the gasoline carefully into a clean container so none of the water follows. Don't you have a sentiment bowl or are you feuling a truck or car?

I've found that most inline filters will swell and not let water thru them in a gasoline line once water hits them, and won't let anything thru once it swells.Which is probably why many people have a problem with
gas not flowing thru an inline filter. To me its a good thing I'd rather change out a cheap filter than deal with water in the carb.

I have some screen from the paper mill that's fine enough, I have put screens in funnels, use a snap ring to hold them in. The screen works best if it has a little oil on it.

The screen wire on a funnel is a flash back protector.Any cleaning is just happy accident.

Russ, you mentioned the paper mill. Was that the Champion Mill in Sartell, MN? If so did you know Dave Plant? Lived next door to him when I was Parts Mgr. at GATR.

When I first got the filter by Mr. Funnel I filled it with water.
Over a period of 10 mins no water came through.

I'm guessing that since you want to pour it through a funnel, the gasoline must already be in 5 gallon or smaller containers. If you really want to avoid headaches and frustration, just dispose of the contaminated gasoline and go buy fresh gasoline.
