I got everything apart and have the regulator in my hand. Kokusan Denki. # Rs 5101. From what I've heard these were a problem with these Kubotas charging. Is this true ? What would you recommend as a replacement? Aftermarket or factory ? Another issue I have is seems like the decompression valve is froze up. It has been this way since I've owned it for the last 9 years. Not an issue, just wondering what you think about that too !

You will have to e-mail me a phone number and I can tell you how to fix the d-release. As for the voltage regulators really never sold a lot of them. Most times it was in the dyno. I really wondered how you checked the regulator. I have no experience with aftermarket on the regulators. MOST KUBOTA dealers the electrical parts are sold non returnable so you need to know before you go to buying parts.

I have not checked the regulator. Had the dyno checked and it was ok. Did I miss something major in between? I can buy a regulator for less than 30 on line. Since all the wiring looked ok I assumed that was the problem.
