LUC Combine Engine in JD Garden Tractor

I get these video links from Green Magazine. Here is the caption from today's.

"In today?s video we see a two-cylinder ?LUC? combine engine from the 1950s, fitted to a John Deere lawn and garden tractor from the 1980s. The best of backwoods engineering."

This is unbelievable and literally mind bending. I felt like my brain was twisting hearing that engine run in a Garden Tractor. The guy did a great job. Maybe I can find a link and post it.

(quoted from post at 20:29:18 02/08/19) I would rather have the engine parallel than cross wise. Ron MN

I agree, but that's the way the original engine was, and it would take an "around the corner" belt drive or a 90º gearbox to turn it.

I have a "300" with no engine, and an LUC.

It's a hydro, so original engine was mounted longitudinally, ready for the swap.

Some day!

Dpn't know why but I always liked this one.
