1940 AC grader

I can only imagine operating this rig in the Texas heat. It was at the Glenrose show.

That was as good as it got back then. Install an umbrella to keep the sun off of you and then just go. Operator probably had a 1 gallon glass jug, wrapped in burlap, and filled with water.

Well, guess it would beat the alternative... LOL

Ever been to the Temple show? They have a trenching machine on display.

Spend a few days on that beast! Instant coronary if OSHA saw that thing in operation! LOL

Our friend Old has a tractor mounted grader called a "Speed Patrol"- not sure if it's an AC, but I think so.

I have one its pretty good really I've used it to grade drive ways and to push snow works good. There is a small paving company near me that uses one all the time.

Have you ever seen the pictures of the early snow plows, with guys riding outside, running chain falls, and large wheels like in this picture? At least with this "Speed Patrol", you could, as suggested, add some shade to beat the elements!

There's one just like that in the mtns west of Denver that is for sale for $1400. It's not running but looks complete. I was interested in it before I bought my model D grader. Adjusting the blade angle and pitch is a real bear. The model D has a rotisserie for blade angle, and a pin setup for pitch.

(quoted from post at 22:49:28 02/04/19) I had one and sold it, I only got two hands and that isn't enough:)

I always laugh a little when I see one of those.
They are probably great machines but if I ever get one I will certainly convert it to foot brakes.
Just driving a plain ol' WC up here in the mountains of NY
is a challenge.
