What company made the old, small, 4 wheeled GALVANIZED gravity wagons? The ones that look like they might hold 100 bushels or so?

Little Giant was one and I am pretty sure that there were other makes.

Yes. Thanks NY 986. You are right and that is exactly what I asked for. However, after googling the picture, I'm sorry. My mistake. Not gravity wagon but the type that has the little door at the bottom rear. It's not the tall kind.

Montgomery Ward Had some; But I am pretty sure they bought them from a manufacturer such as Little Giant?

There were probably others but we had 2 made by Nu-built co, and one made by Lindsay.

Lots of brands made galvanized flaur boxes, Minnesota was a popular brand and they made them in 100, 125, and 159 bushel sizes. Altho the 100 bushel size was pretty rare, I've only seen one. They also made wooden flair and barge boxes.

Regarding the galvanized flare boxes, Montgomery Ward also made and sold a lot of them. I had one for a time on a M. Wards gear. It had a hydraulic hoist probably by Midwest. The box also had a couple 1x12 or 2x12 extensions on the box to increase capacity of ear corn. Fwiw I never used it for that but I suppose we could get about 250 bushels beans or a bit more corn in it.

The first gravity boxes I saw our neighbor got 2 new ones in 58 or so. Little Giant. Everybody went and looked at them. Some said they'll never work, others said wish I had thought of that.

The only galvanized gravity bed I know of was 12' long compaired to the normal bed at 10' and did not have a steep enough slop to unload correctly and they were figured at 125 bushels. Now the flair box was just about non existing around here. They were in the Sears and Wards farm catalogs but I don't ever remember seeing any steel box flair beds, only a couple of wood ones. In 75 years you se a lot of things but the stel box flair was not one of them.
