I have a question on my ford 8 n tractor. I have attempted to perform a electricl conversion. I included a photo of the instructions provided from yesterday tractor supply. As far as I can tell I followed instructions closely. A few things though that wasn?t covered. There is a negative and a positive side to coil, do I need to ground coil? Also before there was a wire hooked to distributor , does the distributor need a hot wire ran to it? I did not have a terminal block so I purchased one and hooked them up according to instructions. Did I need to do this? I also installed a ignition switch and got rid of the tago switch that was being used. There was two wires yellow and black. I hooked both up to to terminal block. Was I suppose to use black as ground instead of doing this, the reason I am asking is the resister was smoking pretty bad and so was the starter. I am thinking I should have ran both wires from terminal block to the yellow wire.
Thanks so much!
