First Tractor No PTO

So I’m a little bit into my first tractor.
1969 Ford 3500D industrial with loader and box scraper.
It didn’t come with a PTO, but has a cover plate bolted on in its place.

I’ve done enough research to know you can’t really add a factory style PTO.

How about tapping into the loader hydraulics...can you add a hydro powered PTO and mount it where the PTO cover is mounted? Would that run a mower or post hole auger?

Additionally, if it’s not practical, the recent post about using the 3 point as a fork lift got me thinking..what other implements are useful on a tractor that are not PTO powered?

Yes that is what I understand.
My question was regarding tapping into the higher capacity loader hydraulics and mounting a PTO shaft to the outside of the rear axle case that is driven by hydraulic power.

13.5 gpm at 2000 psi would give a theoretical power of about 15 hp. However, this isn't taking
into account inefficiencies so the actual usable power out of the shaft would only be 10-12 hp. (I
don't know what your system pressure is so the 2000 psi is just a guess.) The tractor would need
to have a fairly sizable oil cooler since that lost power is going directly into heating the oil.
The demands on the hydraulic system created by running a motor under continuous load is very
different than loader work.

Hi, you could use high volume hyd from tractor to turn a
hydraulic motor on an implement with a bit of adapting. Ed Will

Yes but. Running a mower with the hydraulics directly is far better. Same with a auger. safer, and easier to deal
with. hydraulic mowers are common. Jim

I see the replacement pumps for the 735 loader are rated for 21gpm at 2000 RPM. Have to assume that’s near what the OEM was. My tractor would be moving along at 2000 RPM. Not sure if this is practical.

Would be easier if someone else had already done this on the 3500 loader and we know it worked.
