What does He have against lube for cutting threads.

Interesting (sort of), so what he is really making is a thread chaser for aluminum, not really a real "tap" as the title suggests ..... would that be a fair reply? I'm not an experienced machinist but I've never seen a tap used with a lathe like that to create some messed up threads.

If he would of used lube, backed it up to clean out the chips, it probably would of worked in the lathe. I was taught to put a center in the tailstock, use that to hold the tap straight and apply a little pressure while getting started. This guy is a putz!
