Where the inlet port says it's a half inch and that you have to put a 3/8 plug back deep in the hole,I think that's a 3/8 plug and you have to put a 1/4 inch plug back in there. Get one with an Allen head so you can use a long Allen wrench to put it in. That port is where your pressure hose hooks in to go to the inlet side of an open center valve.

You HAVE to use an open center. It won't effect the remotes. A word of warning,if you take the valve off, taking a loader off for example, don't start the tractor unless you take that 1/4 inch pipe plug out or put a jumper hose in from the inlet port to the return port. With that plug in there, there's no path to a relief valve and it'll build pressure until something is damaged inside to relieve it. Using a closed center valve would have the same effect.

Last question I think. For a loader with only boom and bucket function a two spool valve should be all that is needed. No cab on this tractor so we can use an old style valve mounted near the driver. But do you know of a source for a cable controlled valve with a joystick? Once installed this loader will never be removed unless for repairs. Thanks..Arnie

I wouldn't know where to get that valve unless maybe Northern Tool or Baum hydraulics. Without a self leveling bucket,I don't like a single lever joystick. I have two lever valves on both my loaders. It doesn't take much practice to be able to use both levers at once and level the bucket while you're raising and lowering it. With a joystick, you'd have to stop movement of one to use the other wouldn't you?

This loader is only used to load round bales and doesn't have or need self leveling. That's why I thought a two spool valve would work. Thanks

Ya,a two spool is fine. Either way,it's nice to be able to level off when you're coming up to the load, but it doesn't matter really.

A joy stick will raise and curl at the same time and much easier than a 2 lever. That's all we had on our loaders at work. Same with joysticks on backhoes, much easier than the old 4 levers'. Both worked once you got used to it though.

OK. I didn't know they'd work both ways at once. I've just learned to use my fingers, thumb and the palm of my hand to run two levers at once.
