Picture for you northerners

Took these pictures of the neighbors pasture today.
This is why a lot of people calve in the fall around here.
The grass is greener in the middle of the winter than it is in mid summer.

I imagine a New Holland snow baler. Using a snow blower pickup into the chamber, then a hot knife separator between each compressed block and ramp to ground. let refreeze (2 degrees here) and instant Igloo construction material. Green grass, what a concept. Jim

Yeah, well you got gaters and snakes and roaches the size of rats and rats the size of a new born calf.

old weldor, hit post July 4, 1966, 8 weeks in C-3-1, yes was warm but I had been working as an inspector on I-80 construction. Interesting watching the air conditioned office types handling the heat.

As long as your pi$$ing of the folks shoveling snow, I'll throw in a few pictures from our outing today, to Tortilla Flats AZ. Lots of nice motorcycles, good food and music! When we got home we went in the pool and hot tub!

this north-lander really wouldn't hurt anything - maybe eat some fresh seafood, try a slice of muffuletta sandwich, and admire some good ol' southern rust... while avoiding spiders and snakes! :)

Fort Polk was my stomping ground in 63. So hot some days didn't do much. Them dry pine needles just made it smell hotter. Don't ever remember dad saying its to hot to go to the hay field. Sunday morning and 8 degrees.

Never too hot to go to the hay field.I've been in the field handling small bales all afternoon when it was over 100 degrees in the shade and we were in the Sun.We went thru a lot of ice water.

You mix ⅜ Brahman with them and come out with Brangus.....do just fine and sell really good. Sold a 3 year old "grade" bull this time of year at the Durant, Ok. sale barn for $3200 that was primarily on grass. Black is most of what you see nowadays.
