It turns out the apocalypse is still in the future. The weather gal this morning said the cold got here ahead of the moisture so we dodged the bullet. Still took most of the morning to dig out because of the wind/drifting. But kind of a typical Iowa snow event in January, not the end of the world.

Yes SNOWmagetton missed us!!! LOL I told a neighbor that he can Thank me for it missing us. LOL I put the snow blower and chains on the tractors. I did not do either last year and had not done it yet this year either. We did not get the first flake until 6 PM last night.

The weather service is trying to say we got 6-7 inches. I think it is more like 3-4 tops. It really is a dry snow and is blowing around. I had some 2 foot drifts but the majority of the drive did not have any snow on it. The wind blew it off.

I got the blower mounted, shear bolts replaced, adjusted everything and serviced all on Wednesday in advance of the predicted "major storm event".
Therefore I take at least partial credit for scaring the storm away from central Iowa.

Well, thanks a lot for scaring it off........it's 21 deg and it just started snowing here in upstate NY....supposed to get 18" to 24" here in my neck of the woods.

The big snow storm of 2019 has yet to materialize here in South Central Ontario. We have only seen a few light flurries from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Certainly nothing to clean off the drive way.. And that?s fine with me, we have received plenty of moisture this past fall. So we don?t need a load of snow this winter

Here, a little ne of Council Bluffs we we're s'posed to get 4". Instead we got around a quarter inch of ice.

Maybe 2-3" here in MI where I'm at. Just enough to keep me going round and round on the paved roads keeping the drifts at bay. Shut it down for the day, I'm sure I'll be back in tomorrow to run the paved roads and the gravel roads. Oh well, it is a dry snow with the cold we have, a good driving snow as I say.

yea it started like game busters yesterday about 1245 pm hard to say how much we got as wind blew it around didn't have to clear driveway only in front of garage door.

Well, it is only 12F here on U*S 20 about 55 miles west of Albany. We had some skiffs yesterday with about
2" of snow. About 3

o pm it started snowing again. Much harder. We have acquired another 3 inches this
afternoon. Wind around 7-10mph. Only traffic on US 20 is trucks. The regional WM distribution center is just
15 miles to the east.

All the luck getting snow that is nothing but trouble. I don't know if I will be able to get the front door to my apartment open to get out or not. Back is a sliding patio door with snow against it. Is it good luck to wonder if you can get out of your home because of the snow? I don't think so. And we do have a skie area not that far away.
