posted about putting a block heater on a 2009, L3400 kubota w/th hydrostat and 4x4. they say there is a 1" plug on the rear of the block, needless to say i can't find it, anyone familier with the L3400 to guide me to it or is there even one there ???
 
John, you can go to KUBOTA (DOT) COM view illustrated parts, sign the agreement, search L 3400, select engine, then look at the block, looks like Item # 70 cap sealing would be it. Watch and do not get the one that is on the end of the cam item 50.. Looks to me like you would have to pull the fuel tank to get there. I was thinking down on the front corner of the block but that plug is smaller.
 
Folks, this is in no way an "earlier" Kubota.

Bought my B1750HSD with Bi-Speed Turn in the spring of 1993.

Still use it routinely to mow lawn, plow snow, etc., without ANY issues of ANY kind.

I used to have a 2004 L 3400 that I installed a block heater in. I can't remember exactly where the plug was but I remember I had to pull the starter out it was somewhere in that area. The kit I got from Kubota had instructions to show which plug it went into.
 
I am thinking this poster has it right, I am pretty sure it goes in the side of the block and right behind the starter would be a plug.
 
I?m not sure if this would help but we had a skid steer once upon a time that had no block heater and just took two magnetic block heaters and wired them together and ran the plug where it was easily accessible. Never took them off the motor until the day it was traded. They worked great
