Airport baggage trailer

I ran across this at a local tractor yard and picked it up for the wife to use for tree planting etc. It is an interesting trailer and thought I would share some pics. Anyone know how much one of these might weigh or know anything about them?

white halftrack I'm in Texas for the winter but during warm weather I live 5 miles from the guy that I bought it from. I told a buddy of mine to buy that to store his firewood in but he didn't want to. Where are you from? Gerald

Omaha Nebraska. It is a small world.

It needs some work but should be useful when done. I think it will be too heavy to pull with a gator but a small tractor should do it.

Whoa! Vintage cool, use it all you want but don't paint that thing, that's awesome! There's no more TWA, Pan Am, Eastern or Braniff. Kinda like some of the old tractor brands, relics of the past.

Wow that is a nice find. Try to keep it nice and spiff it up a bit. Bet it would be funny as all get out in a parade!! I like it. Kinda like my nursery cart I got at an auction this spring. Chunky.

Came back a little while later. Took another look at your toy. That has all of the drop sides. Yeeeha! Hope you bought it already. I want one too. Going to be a really fun toy. An International CUB would be super dandy with that trailer. On regular ground my big Husqvarna 2254 machine would handle that no problem. I am guessing somewhere in the 800 pound range, maybe just a bit more. Let us know in a future post.

Thanks for the comments. I wish the top wasn?t damaged but I can probably replace the tin and rivet it back on. Wife might use it for Halloween kids transport by mounting a small quiet generator some seating, hanging lights and some music. I thought that could be fun with some decorating. Thanks for the responses. I did not pick it up yet but deal is made and I trust him. He has always been fair and honest with me.

Unless its pancake flat where you live and you go extrememly slow, don’t put people in it. The pivoting front axle creates two pivot points when you pull it, and that can get dangerous going downhill.

Those smallish tires are going to be a real nuisance if using the trailer on soft ground. It will be difficult to pull.

Pretty cool post. Howard Hughes owned TWA at one time. Nobody has owned it for about 18 years or so. As they say, Howard would turn over in his grave if he saw that.

She does stay busy. We have around 75 acres of land we are
building on which is probably not much comparatively but we have
love wildlife and are planting a lot of trees. Two years ago she
planted over 200 but the deer have taken care of many of them. Now
we have learned we need to put up guards. Using this might allow
her to keep all equipment in one spot to be efficient while also
keeping covered.
