hi im new to this fourm but i am having trouble with a 140 farmall hydraulic pump i need to rebuild it but cant find a rebuild kit everywhere i check says not available any suggestions. the pump works fine just it leaks fluid bad

Seals should still be available at the dealer. If there's a deep groove in shaft you can install a "speedi-sleeve".

Two different pumps were used, check out the parts link below to ID the pumps and get seal part numbers.

Also, once you have the part number, it can likely be crossed to an "standard" SKF, Timken, or National seal.

Is this the front seal on the pump or is the leak some other place? Another leading cause of fluid leaking past the front pump seal is excessive wear internally in the pump.

I got my kit from a CNH dealer (Case New Holland) along with new dust boots... (Going by memory its been at least 10 years) I took the hydraulic unit off removed the head and took it apart I could not get one of the check balls out I cleaned resealed and put back together it did not work right. I walked over to my parts cleaner and there layed a check ball are the check ball seat. I popped the head off while the unit was on the tractor installed it all was good with the world..

I needed a new oil screen the new OEM replacement did not fit I had to make it fit. The original oil pressure relief valve spring was broken I would get a new one (top center 1st of pix, center 2nd pix)... Not much to it other than its HEAVY.... I don't remember seals it had plenty of o-rings that I could interchange now if I were to do another...

thanks for the responce guys but maybe im talking about the wrong part its the pump that mounts in the fromt where you put the oil in at

It has one seal and a couple o-rings (may be gaskets don't remember) where the hydraulic manifold connects to the pump that's it... gene bender should have the number for the seal and repair sleeve if needed...

I needed a pump and got lucky a member here sold me one for $25 he had already replaced the seal... :) Its a simple gear pump nuttin to it...
