I need to replace the VIN plate on my 101 Massey-Harris!! I can find the blank plates but is there anyone.that will
stamp them too??? Thank You

Check with a machine shop/welding shop. They may have the metal number/letter stamp punches you need.

You might look into having them engraved.

A trophy shop, or machine shop with an NC mill can do it.

You can buy or borrow a stamping set and do them your self, but practice on a scrap piece first!

It takes careful planning and a steady hand to make stamping come out right. Near impossible to hand stamp with any consistency, at least for me it is...

I got one for my Oliver 500 from Lyle Dumont. He owns the Dumont Museum in Sigourney Iowa. Don't know for sure, but I think he had it made by somebody else. It had all the numbers and letters stamped in to it. You might check with him.

Buy a stamp set and do it yourself. Practice up on something else first to get the feel of it. If you look at the number stampings on old tractor serial number plates they aren’t perfect by any means.

The company that I used to work for, had a carbide pen to print there serial number tags. They had programs and used a computer to enter the info and the machine printed it out. I do not know if you could find someone who has this type of equipment, but I know if I needed one badly enough, I would have my friend print it out for me.(on the sly of course)

When Massey Harris had those tin plates stamped, they probably didn't advertise for a surgeon from Harvard medical school to do it in Racine, WI. I think you would have a very good chance of duplicating what they did at the factory. Make sure though that you find a set of stamps that are the same or very close to what was on the old tin plate.
