If you have a loader on it buy the JD steps that are adjustable. You can swing the steps out to work better around loader brackets. If no loader I like the K&M steps pretty well.

If you don?t need anything fancy and just want a step lower to the ground I bought the bottom step and bracket for a 4440 and bolted it on. I can?t recall but I think that it bolted into a hole in the bell housing or engine near the oil filter cover. I?m out feeding cows or I would look. It was easy, I know that much. My hips are getting too bad for that first step that was four feet off the ground.

Son has two with steps; one with after market, one with JD. You can tell which one is which when you step up on them. The JD doesn't have give in it like the aftermarket does. Obviously better built.

Case steps from the 30 or 70 series are easy to put on and have good steps. I've added them to several JD tractors for folks who had trouble getting on.
