Are recall repairs shown on Carfax vehicle reports? Looking into buying an 07 tundra with 87000 miles. Clean Carfax but this year model had 8 recalls.good bad ugly on this truck/year model??

Maybe maybe not
recall history should be available at the dealer (maybe if they like you)
From what I understand carfax can be fudged by shady operators

A rental car can be in an accident and it won't show up on carfax because the car rental place is self insured.
So be aware of any new car with low miles and deal sounds too good to be true.

Don't know about recalls, but my daughter was looking at a repaired/red titled one-we knew this. Paid car fax for the report-wanted to know where and how much damage. It just said it had been totaled! Thanx Capt. Obvious! Not impressed!

A Toyota dealer should be able to enter the VIN and see if they were done or not. And if not see if they are still going to do them.

For got to add. If a dealer has a car in inventory and it also has a body shop any repairs will be done under the radar !

carfax and other companies who take your money have a habit of not being very accurate. 2 different reports on the same car will usually read completely different. personally, i've quit using them. VIN at the dealership will tell u about recalls.

I worked for a car dealer for 11 years. Anyone repairing a vehicle is not required to report repairs to car fax or any other place like that. If the car came from another state, make sure you look it over very well. Our experience with used Toyotas at the dealership was not good.

Carfax can only report what has been reported to them. No law says anyone has to report anything to Carfax. Like others have said contact the new car dealership for recall info.

So as with any used vehicle I guess it?s like flipping a coin! Thanks guys good information

The manufacturer is required by law to track safety recall compliance by VIN, and they do so for non-safety recalls as well. Eight recalls is a lot, but hardly unusual. Take the car to any Toyota dealer, and they'll confirm if all the recalls have been performed. And they'll take care of any ones that were missed.

With all the flooding going on around the country, reach up under the seats and feel the springs for rust...easiest and very obvious place to check.
