Rock Auto Parts

For those repairing or rebuilding old vehicles, possibly tractors too, I've found Rock Auto to be a good source of parts. I've bought several items for the 52 Merc including brake parts and now, radiator hoses. Got some video of opening up the mail package today. There is a little something extra at the end of the video since it was a short one.
Rock Auto Parts

I've used Rock Auto quite a bit over the last few years and always found them to be a solid outfit with some of the best prices around. Fast shipping, too.

I have found myself using their online partsbook for reference and then using that to source elsewhere
I do not like rock auto's no phone number impersonal attitude toward customer service

I've never really had a problem with rock auto. One time I got an incorrect ac clutch bearing. Their catalog said it should fit, but it didnt. They made me pay to ship it back. One other time I got an incorrect o2 sensor. The connector was wrong. They told me to just keep it and refunded my money. ( this was when you could call and talk to someone.) I swapped connectors and used it so I guess its a wash....

I just order a few parts Wednesday night. They showed up Friday. Can't complain about that.

I still favor my locally owned independent auto parts store. Some of the counter guys have been there for a long time, and they don't give me the year make and model BS because they know that some of the stuff that I work on they don't want to know. The pricing is also very good with an account number, and though they sometimes don't have it, it can usually be in by later that day or the next day. I have yet to set foot in the O'Reilly's that was recently built about twenty years ago, LOL. I drive right by it to got to my locally owned store.

I love them, but ALWAYS check the freight before finalizing the order, sometimes it becomes cheaper to buy local with the freight added

I have not found them to be very cheap compared to my local guys and I saved the shipping cost. I know I pay freight either way just not more than I already spend with the parts on the shelf or through a stock order.

When I rebuilt my skid steer motor I got new glo plugs from Rock Auto, Dealer wanted an outrageous price NAPA wanted 30.00 each Rock Auto was 6.00 each

I have used Rock Auto several times.....and have always saved money! A couple weeks ago, I ordered some special pins for my 1947 Chevy pickup. They came two days later, and were the EXACT part the local parts store had for sale. I ordered 10 pins - I got 20....seems at RA, they come 2 to a box! For 20, I paid right at $21 (including shipping). At the local parts store, they wanted $23 EACH! A couple of years ago, I ordered tie rods and other front end parts for my 86 Ford. The local parts store wanted over $200 for it all. RA shipped it to me for $58 TOTAL. They were the same parts.
I'm fixing to order some more parts today.

I ordered parts for a 1981 F350 brake job. Really good prices. I also signed up to receive notices of closeouts on my cars. Really super low prices on the closeout items ! but I don't need any more for it though. If you had a fleet or planed way ahead for some repairs you could get some killer deals on those closeouts.

M&J ..... I suspect that their lower prices (generally) are partially a result of not having living and breathing people on the phones making maybe $15-$20 per hour. Those computer-controlled ordering systems only use a wee bit of electrical power.
