got it narrowed down to 2 places .yellow stone wyoming.or west glacier montana.which one is better ,your thoughts, thanks

If you go to Yellowstone be careful of the Bison! One tried to get on my rental snowmobile with me.

What are you driving? Camping or hotels? Time frame? Where are you leaving from? Rooms in Yellowstone are pretty EXPENSIVE if they are even available.

We drove out 2 yrs ago and could only go in, not through Glacier (fires). We don't really care for crowds too much and National Parks do draw crowds. We will not return to Yellowstone but yes to Glacier.

If you are coming from the east ALT 14 (closed in winter) from Sheridan WY area is an interesting drive to Cody.

bear tooth pass Red Lodge MT,north side of yellow stone. lots of nice places to go with out all of the people. the big places are full of rude foreigners.

Yellowstone, before school is out or after back in session in the fall. Was just there and left the day after Christmas. Been there several times. Glacier twice, but not worth it, if you can only do one.

Amtrack could be fun way to travel and more relaxing than driving, but probably costs more than flying or driving.

We have visited both and each has its high points. I would not even try Yellowstone in summer, you will spend too much time fighting crowds. Sept is in my opinion best time to visit.
Glacier is our favorite if you like beautiful scenery and not over-run with people. We were there in August of 2018 and really enjoyed it there.
If you are at Glacier, I would drive the 400 miles up to The Canadian Rockies. The Ice Fields Parkway from Lake Louise to Jasper is one of the most beautiful in North America

If you go to Yellowstone stop at the museum in Cody WY on the way through. Also the Custer battle filed at Crow Agency MT US-212 is a much better road than used to be. You used to be able to check your own tail lights it was so crooked. Now it has some slow traffic lanes on the hills. I would not run it at night. Long ways to nothing if broke down. Pretty drive though. All of this can be done on the round trip.
If you go to Glacier there is the Charles M. Russell museum in Great Falls MT on the way A nice sight at night is going out by the airport at Billings set at the top along the cliff there you can see the lights of Billings from above the city. The Fair is at the Metra in Billings. There is no sales tax in MT for things like tools in the pawn shops. Several in Billings. I bought a lot of tools there among other things.
So now you could have a whole itinerary.

We did both on our motorcycle trip last summer. We enjoyed both, but the crowds were a bit much in Yellowstone. We liked the Going To The Sun highway in Glacier so much we rode the entire length four times. We also took a short ride up to Waterton Lakes in Canada (from East Glacier), which we enjoyed. Waterton Lakes Village is pretty cool in and of itself.

If you do Yellowstone, I highly recommend doing the Bear Tooth Pass and Chief Joseph highway loop while in the area.

My son use to work at Glacier many years ago. He said if you dont see anything else, See Glacier National Park.

Haha, been there done that as well Showcrop! That will definitely get your attention when the only thing between you and that big beast is a 600 lb.
snowmobile! Having said that i would recommend Glacier, Yellowstone is very nice but for sheer beauty, Glacier takes my breath away! My wife and I
love MT.

Yup, no traffic except for the bison, LOL. As he was walking towards me I shifted my camera into my left hand and put my right on the throttle. When He got to four feet away I pressed the shutter button with flash on. He stopped and I took off.
