Alternate Electronic Ignitions

There has been a lot said about Electronic Ignitions, pro and con. 1-2 years ago I found a new to me company developing electronic ignitions. I was inpressed with their approach. Today I came across their card and decided to see how they are doing. They are:

www.c5ignitions.com and call themselves C5 Performance Inc.

They seem to have been born out of the tractor pulling area so have high end ignitions for them, but they now have a less expensive version for restoration or farm tractors AND are about to introduce yet another version that is much still less expensive and will permit your tractor to still look stock. This last one is not on their website yet but will be soon.

Today I talked to Paul Grove and he was extremely knowledgeable and informative. The number is on the Website.

When I plugged the URL in to my URL line my computer would not go there with some non-secure complaint. Paul said this might be a "cookie issue" on my computer. Anyway, I Googled the company and got in just fine. There are many videos. Once the newer, less expensive version is out I plan to convert one of my gas burners to experiment.

I am not involved with this company personally. I am just passing information along.

Thanks Paul,,this is how we learn about new ideas..since we all can't make it to the same coffee shop...

It will be good to have an alternative to the "less than stellar" stuff that's out there now!

That would double the price of the tractor. Not

Besides the high price tag, performance is not as great as it is made to sound. Ask some pullers that have tried it and get an honest opinion before you invest in one. I know of several pullers who have taken them off after trying one.

Since a price has been thrown out I will add. The Puller version is in that $700 area. There is a $500 version. And there will be a $200 version.

Not too many years ago, you could get an electronic ignition conversion kit for a Briggs and Stratton. Cost about $5 if I remember right.
