Need Kawasaki FD620D engine

Good Morning All,
I have a bad smoking engine that fouls one plug often.
I would like to rebuild but find that it will add up to near $1000. So if I can find a good low hour used one I would bite.

your best bet mite be to just buy a used mower. and hope for the best. Bob

What are your options for mounting a different engine in its place? I am thinking a HF Predator 20HP engine

I presume this would be for a 6x4 gator? If so you need more specific. The gator engine is set up different. Different crank with taper. If for a mule has a splined shaft and no governor. Also different crank for the John Deere mower. I have some parts and you might be better off rebuilding. I did locate a low hour engine for my 6x4 gator but I looked for a long time. The 620D is the 425 version. Where are you at? In Iowa I know of a guy that has several he's parting out.

I honestly would rebuild it then you know what you've got. With a used motor its a crap shoot on how well the maintenance has been done. I've got one that's going to be done but its low on my priority list.

If is usually a bunged up, busted or misplaced PCV system feeding crankcase oil into the intake manifold .
Coolant temperature ? Type and weight of oil ? Choke plate 100% open?

Get a rebuild kit from Ebay for $225 and fix it.
