Cold Sunset

A cold and windy day here in Sask. at 0F and strong NW winds blowing snow around. Wind chill was reported in the -30C range. It would be a little better in farenheit degrees but I didn't do the conversion. Cattle were getting low on hay so I had to start the Massey and put out a hay bale for them. Not bad where they feed in the shelter of the trees but still too cold to have my mitts off for more than a minute to take this sunset picture.

Ande, that is a good photo of what we call here, "sundogs". Always a sign of cold weather. I think we had them yesterday morning.

I grew up in the Dakotas and I can just look at that picture and feel the cold. When it's that cold the wind just feels like a knife going through you. Guess I don't miss it too much.

Beautiful picture, but you can have that cold weather! I don't make any body heat so I'd die in those temps. We had a spell a year ago in southeastern VA where it got down to minus five. Days are getting longer! Come on spring time and warm weather!

Some might find it hard to believe but I don't handle the cold well either. I have zero fat insulation so have to dress up in multiple layers and keep active outside or else I will really feel it. But dress up warm, keep busy, and stay out of the wind as much as possible and it is not that bad.

The cold is not so bad as long as it does not get too windy. Like today. Strong south easter blowing in really nasty at just above 0 degrees. I did not spend much time out in that.
