Had a gelled up potato truck and the 3020 just gelled up on me pushing snow luckily I had some 911 in stock and was able to get them both going both were running gas station fuel so much for that theory

My four trucks used to run five days a week mostly in NH on gas station winter blend fuel. The only problems we had were when a driver skipped his Power Service for more than two fill-ups. I had to go rescue one or get it towed in maybe three times in 15 years. No magic, just common sense.

Happened to me a year ago, I run home heating oil in my tractors, the place I buy from has a tank outside, every November I put power service in both my tractors and truck, guess it wasent enough, the 4610 tractor quit while spreading poo, new fuel filter, old one had wax in it, and more power service and it was good to go. My brother puts on road in his truck, it gelled up too! My diesel truck sits all winter but I still treat it in case I need to use it. Can't trust what you buy at the stations, or we just got colder than everyone expected.

Last winter I bought some off-road that was supposed to be treated for cold weather. When I poured it in the tractor through a funnel with a fine screen there were ice crystals in the screen. The seller insisted it was treated for -20F, but I drained it out and bought some elsewhere. Lucky the tractor is so easy to drain, I burned it last summer with no problems.

Ice crystals and wax are two totally different situations .

Absolutely.

modern diesels will use return fuel to the filter to help keep the filters warm, or even a heater at the filter. Thiese types help significantly to keep the filter from jelling up. Most old tractors return fuel to the tank, and the filters have a year on them at least. 911 helps in poor designs or simi dirty filters.

My pump guy says that 911 helps him pay the mortgage. Says it is very hard on retainer rings. Anybody else feel the same way??
