Best Farmall H Pictures

In the next few weeks, I’m hoping I buy a Farmall H tractor, it’ll be my first tractor and it’ll be a collection piece that I’ll tinker around with.

I’m 18 years old and I must say, I’m sort of “in love” with older tractors. I’m hoping that some people on this forum can post some inspirational or interesting photos of their Farmall H tractors, to sort of get my imagination flowing.

I accidentally put this in the off topic discussion first, moderators feel free to remove that thread.

I have 3 Farmall H's. A 40, 43, and 44. The 40 and 43 I got from my Dad when he past away. The 44 I purchased last March. The 40 has a draw bar and pulls a 5' sidewinder mower. The 43 has a 3 point lift and is used with a 6' brush cutter and 6' blade. The 44 was originally bought as a parts tractor. I decided to get it running after I found the problem in the transmission. Is not running yet but it is going back together.

Very nice looking tractors? May I ask how many tractors you own total? Also, just curious as to how many acres you own, because I only have 2 acres, and while that’s not enough to justify buying a farm tractor for farm use (I have no farm), I think it’s enough to justify owning one for show and for little jobs.

Hello John,
Here's a couple of mine. H is 1942 and A is 1947. I'll try to find a pic of the H when it found me.
No farm, just play with red tractors.

We have 6 old tractors and 3
acres. We use the 2 fords for
work. Installing fences and brush
cutting. The cub cuts grass. And
the others are for ,uhhhhhhhh,
ummmmm. Just because! Sorry. No H.
But a Cub.

I love to see restored shiney tractors at shows. But when I take my working tractors we always draw a crowd. Folks love to tell stories about when they were younger and had a tractor like that! We are in our 40's and usually the youngest folks showing tractors. Our 16 year old has the cub and our 13 year old has the MM r. I'm glad to see you getting into old tractors!!

I love the picture! Glad to see there are others who have old tractors but don’t have a lot of property, just like me.

John,The only reason that you may not have enough ground is if you get too many to fit them all on the property.Well, not quite, you need a place to park your pickup and trailer.

Thank you everyone for the pictures! Does anyone ever use their Farmall tractor (doesn’t have to be an H) for hauling logs? I’ve always had a soft spot for red tractors hauling wood.

My wife and I own 7 acres. I worked on a farm as a kid and we used Farmall tractors. I do not farm now. I own 6 tractors total. A 1951 Farmall Cub, a 1950 John Deere A, a 1950 Case VAI and the 3 H's. Have owned the Cub for over 22 years. Bought the JD in 2011 for a rebuild project still in work. The VAI was also my Dads. The VAI and the 40 H go to shows in the area. There is a local show that I have taken the Cub, VAI, 40 and 43 H's to. I hope to have the JD done before the next local show this fall.

The JD A was an Uncles that had not run in several years and he had retired from farming. I was looking for a project and he sold the tractor to me.

My Dad repainted one of the H's in 94 and the other in about 98. He pulled the VAI out of a fence row in 2011. There were many layers of paint on it. One of the layers was a green so he repainted it green.

This may not be that pretty a tractor to you, but it sure is to me. It is the one my Dad farmed with for 45 years and I learned to drive on. It has been upside down in a concrete floored trench silo (not my driving), and slid in the mud resulting in the pulley and about half the pulley gear box being destroyed (my driving), caught on fire while running a hammer mill, (nobody driving) etc. Some friends purchased it from a family member when it looked like this.

And as a surprise gave it back to me when it looked like this.

This tractor and I have a long history, this was 65 years ago.

Whoever fixed up that tractor for you did an incredible job! It looks like it rolled off the assembly line!
