.... as usual on January 1 every year, thinking what a beautiful city that must be and the weather, I'm jealous. Now I know why so many YT'ers get grumpy when California comes into the discussion.

You think its a great place you move there,not for me.
I grew up in San Diego when it was a Navy town. Later moved up to Ventura. Spent much of my life there, and it was a great place back then. Weather was always nice, beaches, golf, desert, kind of a paradise.
By the early 2000, it became uninhabitable by honest working people. I left in 1996 and never moved back. I still have tenants out there, and all I get is complaints. Very soon, I'll be selling off my inventory, and will only go back for visits.
Yes, Pasadena is a pretty town, and very clean for the most part. But, it's going down hill, and will soon be like Venice which is a spit-hole.
