OT: Hot Rod Lincoln

Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen, remember them well!

Well, sorta well...

Fractured memories of my wasted youth! LOL

The song came out long before that video did. I did enjoy the shot of the Tommy Ivo dual engine dragster and a few others.
I don't think Neil Harris (opening scene) could handle the car though. . .
I have had a hankering for an old truck as seen in the link below.
1948(?) Ford. I believe.

Thanks for posting, Bruce.

Great video and a cast "of thousands."

I've never seen Stroker Ace, but will now watch it.

Johnny Bond's version is my second most favorite version.

Much better than Commander Cody's.

I always liked Commander Cody's version way better than the other two. It's a great song, no matter who sings it (within reason...).

I do like the old versions of it,I think there is another one that was done by Moon Mullins??? Martin Moon??? I can't quite remember that one. That is one song that a few people have done, and I can't think of one that has butchered it.Recently Asleep At The Wheel did their version of it,a very honest, respectful smooth rendition of it.Like them or not, they didn't hack it to try and make it their own.I really like anything done by Commander Cody, and Bill Kirchen.

There's a lot of smaller mistakes in that video. One of them being as he is supposedly shifting into over drive he is on the brake not the clutch unless they switched sides with the pedals. Just little things I noticed.

I guess because it was the first version I heard of this song, I prefer Pat Travers version. It's very hard to find. A buddy of mine had it on vinyl back in the 80's. I don't know when the album was made.

I saw Commander Cody at a local VFW , He drank seven shots of tequila , puked out the back down and went on stage.
