More help from the swamp

Now missing out on getting the sharp end of the TPP stick is going to break us? you have got to be kidding.

I?m on a couple of ag forums, and most guys who have skin in this game are concerned. They seem to have confidence that it will be resolved in their favor. There is however, no fake news here. We are no longer in these multi national trade agreements, but new, bilateral agreements have not been negotiated. The bilateral agreements might be better, but as of now, only the agreement with Canada and Mexico exist. No new agreement with Japan, and other countries are going to exploit this as much as they can. The bilateral approach might work out, we don?t know yet.

So what is fake news (as some replies have stated)? Here's my definition ..... Fake news is any news that you disagree with after reading the heading or first paragraph. So as much as I used to like Johnny Carson, the link below to a website story makes me very uneasy and I refuse to believe it. Therefore I will label it as FAKE NEWS ..... it really couldn't be true because I liked the guy. Here ya go ....
Fake News about a guy I liked ....

I do not know if article is real or not, but TPP was intended to keep the Chinese in line.

Was super mistake not to participate.

World politics have become just like the weather. "Unpredictable as He!!" and there is nothing we can do about either, except hunker down in a survival mode.

If a man only listens to only one side (either one) tell him that the other side is the enemy, and all fake news....Maybe he will die before he finds out the result.
Listening to both sides and thinking through any argument is hard work. But, Obviously too much thinking effort for many. Our founding fathers thought we cared enough to try to understand both sides of the issues, but I guess they were wrong.

You need to read the fine print in the TPP deal. It wasn't that great for US. Lot's of people bellyache about tariffs with China. We lost lot's of money selling to them, trade has to be balanced. Now about fake news, or lack of telling both sides. It is true that no U.S. Soybeans were sold to China in October. But...the sale of U.S. Soybeans in December was the 9th largest.

NO beans were sold to China in November. We won't know how much farmers have lost in sales and weather related losses for some time, but I believe we have lost a market for beans in the future. I don't have a bean so it isn't my problem, but what money that does not come into my community through agriculture is a loss to all of us. And having family and friends that have small acreage that won't get any benefit from gov. payouts, and will probably just quit, it makes me wonder if there is going to be anything left for the little guy in the next few years.

I was in major consumer business a long time (40 years). We had pretty good data that told us it was much cheaper to keep a customer, than to attract a new one. And further, that once we offended a customer and he left us, it was even more difficult and very very expensive to get him back (if ever).

So it was cheaper to spend a little on warranty to keep a customer, rather than on advertising to find a new customer.
