I have the carb a dedicated NG carb mounted now on to getting a regulator from US Carbonation. Question the brass center screw on the carb I think would be the fuel mixture screw so I would not need a mixture adjuster that goes between the carb and regulator.

That screw would only be for the gasoline system. The NG/LP comes through the center of the carb. Fed through the mixer block.

This is a dedicated NG carb are a dedicated NG/LP carb. The solenoid is the LP/NG selector apply power to the solenoid its LP no power NG. I have took the gas carb off and installed this one.

Notes and Warnings
The solenoid on this is not a fuel shutoff, it is a fuel type valve. It is solenoid that directs the fuel through different ports depending on what fuel is being used – LP or NG. With a battery connected, it runs on LP, with no electrical connection it runs on Natural Gas. There needs to be some type of safety valve in the fuel system that only allow fuel flow when the engine is turning over.

Its got to be the load valve I can add a standard load valve and open it up then see what the adjuster does.

When I called US carb and asked about the fuel hose between the regulator and carb they told me they use a 1/2" heater hose pick it up from NAPA... I think I will stop by the local hose repair and check out what he has...

I've never messed with natural gas, but I would suspect there would be a regulator/safety valve that responds to engine vacuum, that would only allow fuel if there were a demand.

There could be a solenoid ahead of that valve, but there needs to be something to prevent fuel flow in case of a no start.

In the 70's we had the oil embargo. Neighbor had a F250 with a
large LP tank in bed of truck. He said in winter he started his
truck on gas, warmed it up before switching over to LP. He used
the hot water from truck to help heat up the liquid LP.

My dad had an large irrigation pump he did the same thing.
Started it on gas then switched over to LP.

Are you going to have cold start problems with NG and LP?

Keep us post on your progress, I would like to know.

I fired it up today on propane :) I brought a fuel regulator for NG/Propane conversions. As for a safety to stop fuel flow if the engine is not running the regulator I brought will not let fuel thru it unless the engine is running it has to do with the vacuum produced from the intake of air thru the carb. I guess that's why they have a primer on them.

I brought a NG carb from a member here I read...

It runs better with no power to the fuel valve it picked up a little RPM with it disconnected. Next to build a pad for it and get it hooked up...

Hi, were you able to get away with not having to install a load block on the demand regulator? I have the same engine and was thinking about
purchasing one of those carburetors. In my mind, that adjustment screw would take the place of the load block. It seems to be easily
accessible from the front of the engine after assembly. Thanks.

Yes I have a load block on it I am running it on propane for test runs now. I need to put a manometer on the fuel supply confirm correct pressures before I make any incorrect comments about that what appears to be an adjustment on the NG carb..
