I picked up this potato sorter & grader
last week, I've about got it ready to try
out. The brand is King-Wyse Mfg company
out of Ohio, I can't find much about
them, does anyone know anything about
them??

It's not much to go on, but it's something.

King-Wyse seems to have opened their doors in 1933 in Archbold, OH. According to the "Farm Implement News Buyer's Guide 1937" they made quite a few different products, including onion sorters, potato cleaners, potato elevators, conveyors, wagon dumps, potato picking tables, potato weighers, hand trucks, hog self-feeders, and clothes dryers.

They were issued U.S. Patent #2,016,204 on October 1, 1935 for a potato sorting and weighing machine that based on the patent drawings and description, may well be the one in your photo. Here's a link to the U.S. Patent office website showing this machine:

Here are a few more photos of King-Wyse stuff I've ran across that may be of interest:

King-Wyse was in business at least as late as 1957, but I've found little else about them past that date. I can't help but wonder if they weren't bought out by Hesston at some point, as there seems to be some later connection between the two. If you're really interested in the business details, you might try contacting the Archbold Chamber of Commerce at 419-445-2222. Lora Ripke is the Executive Director there and I'd guess the main point of contact.

I own 2 elevators made by the company, one PTO and one hydraulic, all of the moving parts are more or less generic, any replacement parts needed I order from Agrisupply or Shoup. Maybe the same with your machine, probably no proprietary parts on the unit.

We had a long elevator very similar to the one pictured, only our cross slats were closer together,
because I could really put a lot of bales on it! We used it for small grain too, would reach to the very
top of the bins. We usually ran it with a JD B pto.
