Replacement Tractor Opinions

Need to replace my main current tractor, Massey Ferguson 3525. Looking for some suggestions or opinions on a good replacement option in the neighborhood of $20-$25K. 90 acres of tillage, 120 acres of hay production. Dealer support in the area, John Deere, Kubota and Case IH. Have to have 540/1000 pto option.

Would like to hear some model suggestions that might fit the bill. Doesn't have to be a newer model, just need reliable and affordable to work on.

4450 has been suggested by a friend also. A couple not far from me but really rough looking. Will keep an eye out for one though thanks.

Looking for tractor with similar pto hp and drawbar pull? You're into a very expensive kubota to pull the same implements as a 3525, way over 20-25k, only the very
recent Kubota's break 130 pto hp.

I'd be looking at a MF 6200 series or a 3600 series although you might find a 6480 or 5475 in the price range in a pinch. Sometimes find the smaller 8000 series MF's a
little cheaper too and while heavy they are great tillage machines.

Looking for similar PTO an draw pull yes plus or minus a few HP but not much in the minus. We have always had Massey tractors with the exception of one JD 1830 that was a lemon. My only problem with Massey is our dealer shut down this year and we don't have any place very close to take them to now. I had about decided I better get a JD, Case or Kubota so I would have some dealer support nearby.

Should be able to find a really nice JD 4440 in that price range. I do mean a nice one. It would do everything you want to do. To find a nice JD 4450 your going to be in the $25-30K range for 2wd.

I was thinking about a 7110 or 7210 cih magnum. i got to be friends with the shop forman at a cih agco dealership he said very well built. they were
trading in those tractors and they were strippng off the duals and weights to send them to the california dairies. they are about the same pto as the
massy. but they are heavier. i ran a 7140 on a grain/dairy operation and i liked the way it handled.

an't beat an Oliver 1850/1855/1900 etc. cheap reliable power,I have 4 of them. I hay 300 acre/year + field work with these for the last 30 years.

Well, I think you got these below. JD 50 and 55 series. Case
or Case-IH 2290, picks up C-IH 7110, 7120 in my mind.
Neighbor has two newer Kubotas but cannot speak to them.
Of course in all cases care history is paramount.

Looking at a Case 5240 with 5000+ hours and a JD 4450 with 6000+ right now those seem to be the two front runners. Also considering a 7000 hour 4440.

Get the service history on the 5240. The IPTO drive shaft bearing likes to go out on that series at about those hours, leaving you with another lawn ornament to park beside your MF 3525.

Thanks for the tip. Trying to find out if any records are available for it. Things like that make me nervous, 4440 might be a safer bet if they don't have any records for that Case.
