Out of her resting place and into the shop . It had sunk in the ground and was froze down the 3020 didn?t want to pull it out of the ground . Pictures don?t work again

Nope, without pictures it didn't happen. What kind of a crawler is it? I have a JD tech manual for a 2010 crawler if needed. I'll have to do some digging to find it. My local dealer was selling all their books several years ago and I picked some up.

looking good sv., whats the too do list on the old girl? pads and rails look good. I have always wanted a dresser td-7e, p.s., 6 way blade. still looking.

Tracks are in great shape . Gotta send the engine in
to the machine shop and see how much it needs
bored over . I need to have crank checked and
polished and or turned and check the cam . From
there we?ll start on the assembley . Going to rebuild
the cylinder head new valves guides springs
retainers the whole works . Right hand steering
clutch needs some attention so we?ll have to split
the track on that side and see what?s going on in
there . May end up refreshing the transmission
bearings as well probably assemble it and run it
first before the transmission comes out if it needs to

I always wanted a 2 cylinder crawler.
I had a D2 Cat and an HG Oliver years ago when I built my pond.
My Dad had a big pond built in 1955 and they used an MC as the main power to build it.
I still may look for a 2 banger one day.
Have fun with it.

Yup, I've tried pulling my 40 and 420 in the past with rubber tried tractors. It's always a struggle. But that little 420 has pulled a DB990 with a Hesston 1210 haybine hooked to it out of a previously unseen mud hole more than once! Amazing machines. But, the 420 falls a little short on HP/weight/traction when it comes to yanking my D4 Cat around!

Hi SV Cummins, where are you located? I Parted out a 420C that I acquired several years ago and have a very few smaller parts left including a NOS transmission shaft (pt #t27399) and some NOS seals for track rollers?? Also a reverser. I am located in southern BC. Leon

Bret I'll bet that deere has trouble pulling that D-4 around. That D-4 is about twice and a half more weight than the deere and about twice the horse too. I can pull 6-16's with our d-4 in second. It will plow about 20 acres per day after chores and greasing start about 9 and quit at dark. No lights nor a way to use them.

Oh yeah, it's a lot to move. This D4 has been a project for better than 10 years now and what moving I've done is mostly straight line back and forth. I did shift it a few feet sideways with the 420 and it was a struggle. Just can't seem to find time to put her back together.
