N Ford fanbelt

Greetings; The Ford IT shop manual calls for a 44.5 inch fan belt for the N Ford. I noticed that NAPA sold me a 46 1/8 inch belt. Is this going to fit correctly ? Thanks, Gary

No help with that but the last one I got was from Tractor Supply (some years ago) and it fit perfectly.

You mite give it a try, who knows???

Some outfits measure belts by the distance all the way around the outside of the belt (circumference), and some use the "effective length", measured about 1/3 the way between the O.D. and I.D. of the belt.

You won't know where you're at 'til you try it, IMHO.

If you have a front mount distributor with the generator on the
right hand side while sitting on the tractor it may fit fine.
If you have a later N with the side mount distributor and the
generator on the left hand side, probably not.
If you have a 12V conversion it's anyone's guess depending on
who made the brackets and how they fit/attach, what alternator
or generator, size of pulley, etc.

Thanks for the comments. Guess I'll know when I put it on. I'll wait until it snows and get really cold out before I try it. The old one is just starting to show signs of wear. Gary

It has a front mounted distributor and generator on the right side. Thanks for the help. Gary
