Did anyone see Otto in Alaska?

I saw that part last week, they seem to show last week's episode before the new one. I would say Otto made a good decision on not trying to re-weld the old spindles. Of course they didn't show the donor tractor but that front axle he fabbed on there looked like it came off of a tank. Don't know how long it would last but what was shown indicated that it would work for some time. Time will tell ;-)

The one comment I heard the owner say was that it came off of a tractor with a bad transmission, should have known it was a 2000 series :-(

Hello larry@stinescorner,

I did catch most of it. Did not see the end repair. Anyhow, l have seen many breaks like that, but never seen them rust up that quick! Must be the cold air?.....NOT. Just reality tv.

I will have to go back and finish watching it,

Guido.

Leroy ..... like you, I too am clueless. Maybe it's Henry Kulky the actor ..... remember the TV show The Life of Riley? It is Otto Schmidlap I refer to .....

"From 1953 to 1958, Kulky played Otto Schmidlap in the television series, The Life of Riley. In the series, Kulky portrayed a co-worker of series character Chester Riley, a wing riveter at an aircraft plant".

I'm sure a wing riveter in an airplane factory could fix up a tractor axle without too much difficulty.

I quit watching most all the Alaska shows. There are about 10 of them. Chicken Little and the little Dutch Boy, must have scripted all of them.

we had a 2805 that John Deere had and when they put it back together it was bad we bought it CHEEP and rebuilt the transmission with all the updates at the time ran that tractor for over 15,000 hr problem free and yes it was a 24 speed after we sold it it ran for 3 or 4 years and burnt in a shed fire. i sure did like that tractor pulled like hel- and sounded sweet

Before my time to remember. I was I think 16 when got first TV in I believe 59 and onlay part of 3 channels and if Grandpa did not like it we did not watch.

A year or two ago they borrowed a G900 Moline from a neighbor to the homestead to drag something down to the beach or up from the beach.

Saw that, they did show the donor tractor in one very quick shot, not much left of it, but was easy to spot it was a massey. That front end is way heavier
and better than the original was, must have tried to haul something extremely heavy to snap both spindles like they did, when they were done it actually looked fairly good, I thought it was going to put the nose of the tractor up in the air a bit, but still looked fairly level.
