Late 1952 John Deere A

About to purchase at late model John Deere A
Was wanting to know if there is anything special
About them ? As being late.

Nothing special other than being a "last year" model. If real late S/N 300,ooo+ it may have a factory water pump on it. Other than that , not much different than a '50 or even '51 "B"

Ok. I was wondering I?ve never had a A before just seen the serial numbers and the last production was #703384 figure
It being 691343 it be a later year model a I guess.

Opps Looked at the other posters reply. You have a JD "A" not a JD"B" the serial number break is 689880 for 1952. So yours would be a 1952 model. Your would be worth a little more than an earlier styled JD "A" but even that is not real high in today's market. I see nice paint, good tires, plus running good JD "A"s not bring $2000.

JD Seller yeah I was going to trade a Minneapolis Moline G for it as the engine has been rebuilt on the A and fuel tank clean and also comes with set of good 15 tires to replace the
18?s that are on it. Crankcase has been clean and and new oil and starter rebuilt as well.

The best thing about the late A's, is the single stick 6 sp. transmission. These are great tractors. I've had one for yrs. The straight 6 trans. started in the late 50's. I have a stock '50 G and a '52 A & the A will out work it hands down and burn half the fuel.

I've got 2 with 700,000+ serial numbers so they both came with factory water pumps plus one a little older without the factory pump. One of the late ones has the factory live hydraulics added a nice feature.
