I'm helping a friend trouble shoot and repair "No Tail Lights" on a 2009 Honda CRV. Working via telephone as I haven't seen the vehicle in person so pretty much "shooting in the dark".

Fuse has been checked and reported as OK. Don't know yet about the bulb. Wondering where the Tail Light Relay is located?

I asked via "You Tube" and get nothing about Tail Light problems but several about Brake Light problems.

Any suggestions welcome. Maybe I'll have time to travel and help in person on Saturday.

Thanks

Do the Google search before the youtube search.
I don't know Honda CRV specifics but you may have a module that controls all the lights.
You need the owners manual - it will tell you where the lights and fuses are located.
A Youtube video should show you how to remove and replace the relevant parts.

There is a relay but unfortunately it is not serviceable and internal to the Multiplex Control Unit ( MICU ) . Fuse #19-15A is for the relay and fuse #15-7.5A is for the tail lights.

If it is just the tail lights then check the bulbs. The tail light relay also powers 2 side marker lights in the rear, the license plate light, and 2 park lights in the front, so its 7 bulbs total on that circuit.

If the cruise does not work suspect the brake light switch... Dunno about the one you are working on some when the switch is replaced the switch needs to be calibrated with a damm scan took *(&^&!!! It drove me nuttz on my 03 accord...

do the brake lites come on? just not the running lites , could just be bulbs , start with the simple stuff first
