I am looking for a piece of rubber for a tractor. Like a hockey puck , but a little bigger.
A hockey puck is 1 in. thick and 3 inches in diameter. I need something 1 inch thick or thicker and at least 4 inches in diameter. Any ideas out there???? thanks....

I have occasionally cut out tire sidewalls to use as "bushings." A person could stack them to desired thickness. gm

Many ways to come up with that. Stack mud flap rubber till you have what you need and or glue piece together. There is also other thing you could use since many places sell piece of rubber in many thicknesses

-Body mount from a truck.

-Cut one out of one of the heavy rubber mats they sell for horse trailers.

-Maybe use the tire part from a caster wheel if the hole in the center is not too big.

I used to work at a ski area, the bullwheel had a rubber liner for the cable to run on. I brought an old one home just for things like what you need. I don't know if you are anywhere near a ski area but they probably just throw them away.
Here is where new ones come from

You might check with a John Deere dealer and ask for a cab mount bushing. Thought I saw something about that size on the neighbor's newer JD tractor where the cab rests on the rear axle, a couple of weeks ago.

I used to make 4 inch round 3/4 inch thick parts with a hole in the center out of polyurethane. Not sure I have any around anymore. We made them to go in truck coil springs to protect the air bags. Been 25 years or more now.

I have some 1" rubber cow mats in my shop to stand on. Came from a farmer I used to work for when he replaced the mats in his milking parlor. Easy to cut a 4" circle with a hole saw. Then cut what ever size hole you need in the center with a smaller hole saw. If you need a hole in the center.

Place in town sells rubber products. Mats hose and all kinds of other stuff. Sometimes they have scraps. I have cut discs out of uhmw with a hole saw.

You know those mats that they sell to put in front of your work bench? They are about 1/2" thick, and cut real nice. I used that material to make the rubber pieces that go with John Deere hood hardware. The mats are pretty cheap, and are in every farm store in the country. Never tried gluing them together, so I can't vouch for that idea. I've never been close to a hockey puck, but I'll bet the mats are not as hard as one.

THANKS FOR The ideas FELLAS---Thinking I will go with Bob's idea and go to McMaster-Carr, but thanks to you all for sharing.....len in michigan

Air compressor bushing that goes between the tank and floor is real similar to the unit you are looking for.

Truck mud flaps work good. May have to use multiple layers. I used left over pieces from one that had to be cut off when making replacement radiator mounts for my Farmall H.
